Who am I?

My name is Heather Tournas and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Autplay Therapy Provider.

My specialty is providing therapy to 3 to 10 year old children who may present with anxiety, depression, neurodiverse profiles, or social challenges. I focus on supporting each child in their unique journey; whether they are developing social confidence, learning to recognize their emotions, or building tools to manage them effectively. I believe that play should be an integral portion of session as play is a powerful form of communication.

Integrating parent and caregiver sessions is also a critical part of my approach. Tools utilized within session are great, but helping to use them across environments from home to school to within the community is what I strive to support as well. With elevated emotions and behaviors, the connection between child and parent can feel tense or unsettled. I want to help nourish the connection between you and your child with purposeful play concepts.
